We're two friends who've been in the book business for 20+ years. From working in an award winning independent bookstore and heading a beloved children's book festival to collection development and marketing for a school and library wholesaler, we've done a little bit of everything in the literary world.
Bookish Chicago developed from a desire to go back to what we love most — putting books directly into the hands of readers.
As moms, we know how important it is to introduce books to children early and often. We believe reading is a gift that opens up a world of imagination, critical thinking, and enjoyment that can be shared across generations.
As a woman-owned and minority vested small business, we believe that books can change the world. We aim to cultivate offerings that celebrate diversity, spark conversation, and encourage the sharing of ideas.
